In the Voznesensk community of Mykolaivska Oblast, members of the Council on Internally Displaced Persons under the Executive Committee of the Voznesensk City Council have started preparing a survey to assess the needs of displaced people and discussed the development of a targeted support program for IDPs.
The main focus of the Council meeting was on further steps to strengthen support for internally displaced people in the community. During the meeting, work began on a survey designed to collect information about the current needs of displaced residents. The results are expected to be used to develop community-level decisions and support measures.
The participants also discussed the idea of creating a targeted support program for IDPs in the Voznesensk community. At present, they are studying the practices of other Ukrainian communities where similar programs are already being implemented to support displaced people.
Special attention during the meeting was also given to social support issues. Participants received clarifications regarding assistance payments for children with IDP status, as well as updates on recent legislative changes and the procedure for submitting the required documents.
“During the Council meeting, we discussed a survey aimed at identifying the current needs of internally displaced people in the community. I developed the survey taking into account the methodological recommendations of the Charity Foundation Stabilization Support Services, the specific features of the Voznesensk community, and the experience of conducting a similar survey in 2025. The survey is currently being finalized and will soon be distributed among displaced residents in the community.
We also started discussing the main directions of a future targeted support program for IDPs, which the Council plans to develop and implement in cooperation with the city authorities. To familiarize colleagues with possible approaches, I presented successful practices of other IDP councils from different communities across Ukraine, provided by the Charity Foundation Stabilization Support Services.
In addition, members of our IDP Council received detailed explanations from a representative of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Voznesensk regarding Resolution No. 390 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the procedure for applying for assistance payments for children with IDP status. Thanks to this official information, Council members are able to provide displaced residents with accurate consultations on document submission and payment procedures. Going forward, the IDP Council will continue working to support displaced people, protect their rights, and keep the public informed about its activities,” said Yana Burlutska, Head of the IDP Council under the Executive Committee of the Voznesensk City Council.
