For the Councils of the Future

Thanks to Alona’s efforts, over 1,300 IDP families received humanitarian aid and essential-goods vouchers. 113 children joined adaptation programmes, 5 IDPs received employment support, and 1 received a business grant. The city council also recognized an IDP registration certificate as sufficient for social assistance, reducing bureaucratic barriers.

Anna made the IDP Council more active and initiated the “Room of Kindness.” Over 100 IDPs received legal, psychological and social support. At the Council’s request, the community added an apartment to the temporary housing fund, providing a home to the first IDP family. An IDP roadmap was created, and five IDPs joined community working groups.

Amid the challenges of frontline Beryslav District, Anna Minko brings together the IDP Council and partners to support displaced people. Her efforts secured 15 “Own Business” grants for microbusinesses. Since 2024, “Social Taxi” has provided 1,040 rides, while “Little House of Happiness” has supported over 680 children.

Thanks to Anna Sotnikova, the Kryvoozersk community introduced free-meal reimbursement for over 100 IDP children. The IDP Council secured free transport to “Artek” for 19 children and housing compensation for an IDP educator. IDP needs are included in the community strategy, while the “RIKA” club supports integration.

Inna Yeltsova supports the development of “Peer-to-Peer” mentoring. The IDP Council, “Pulse of Change” and “Phoenix” space launched free guitar lessons, where an IDP representative teaches children from displaced families. A one-time workshop became a regular course, helping children learn music, make friends and find support.

Thanks to Natalia Bublichenko’s work, Lubny community adopted an IDP housing programme and created a register of temporary and transit housing. Council members renovated 7 abandoned homes for displaced families. Another 286 people registered for rental assistance, while 146 received consultations from the Council.

Natalia Dovbyk helps displaced men and women find housing and receive humanitarian aid. She assists them in settling in after displacement and supports families already living in the community. One specific area of focus is cash assistance for IDP families who cultivate household garden plots.

Natalia brings partners together to support IDPs. Around 700 displaced people have received legal, psychological and humanitarian assistance. Donor funding helped establish temporary accommodation. Through cooperation with the employment center, IDPs receive retraining and job support. IDPs and local residents also jointly created a youth hub.

Natalia Kruchinina has united authorities, organizations and volunteers to support IDPs. In three months, partners held over 100 educational, creative and sports activities and distributed aid. IDPs receive legal, psychological and humanitarian support, while some have joined volunteer efforts and helped organize events.

Thanks to Natalia Lahutkina’s efforts, the IDP Council strengthened cooperation with humanitarian partners and expanded support. In total, 298 IDPs received assistance. The Council provides coordinated advice and referrals to relevant services, including accompaniment when needed. Natalia and other residents also took part in more than 12 community improvement initiatives.

Natalia Redko strengthened cooperation between the IDP Council and city authorities. The community established an IDP Centre with nearly UAH 5 million in funding and approved an integration programme funded at UAH 2 million annually. Nearly 100 people completed vocational training, and 140 persons received career counselling.

Under Olena Hrekova’s leadership, the IDP Council brings together authorities, communities and partners. In 2024, 1,349 IDPs found jobs and 419 joined public works. Over 600 IDPs received support in submitting claims to the international Register of Damage. Olena also coordinates IDP Councils in Lviv region and represents IDP interests internationally.

Thanks to Yana’s initiatives and the IDP Council, support for displaced people was added to the “Turbota” programme. The community is creating temporary housing support, an educational space and a job database. Twelve people received employment assistance, three started businesses, over 130 families received humanitarian aid, and more than 50 IDPs received consultations.
