
On October 22–23, Odesa will host the Southern Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils, focused on effective models for influencing community decisions and collaborating with authorities. Participants will discuss policies on housing, social services, and support for internally displaced persons.
The program includes discussion panels, interactive formats, the quest “How an IDP Council Can Support Displaced People”, workshops, and an introduction to the IDP Councils Portal — a resource for the development and support of IDP Councils.
Key topics include successful advocacy campaigns of IDP Councils, engaging local stakeholders, and a strategic vision for the development of Councils until 2027.
Expected participants include Pavlo Frolov, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Temporary Special Commission on Protection of IDP Rights; Svitlana Nazarenko, Deputy Director of the Department of Social and Family Policy of the Odesa Regional State (Military) Administration; as well as leaders of IDP Councils, representatives of government bodies, partner civil society organizations, and international organizations collaborating with IDP Councils.
