Until 12 February 2026, communities can apply to participate in the project “Supporting Ukraine’s Recovery for Transparency, Engagement, Resilience, and Empowerment” (U-RESTORE). A total of 12 territorial communities from Zhytomyr and Dnipropetrovsk regions will be selected.
U-RESTORE is a six-year initiative implemented by a consortium of organizations led by Cowater International, with financial support from Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The project aims to support community recovery processes by introducing transparent and inclusive solutions and by engaging residents in local decision-making.
A key focus of U-RESTORE is addressing the needs of internally displaced people, women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. The project also seeks to strengthen the capacity of communities to plan development, manage resources effectively, and build meaningful engagement with residents.
U-RESTORE will work with communities with populations ranging from 5,000 to 80,000 people. Priority will be given to communities that:
- have experienced significant destruction;
- have received a large number of internally displaced people;
- face low socio-economic indicators;
- are dealing with complex recovery challenges.
The total U-RESTORE fund for target communities amounts to CAD 4 million. The funding will support small-scale projects for the recovery of social infrastructure and equipment, strategic investments in the development of local services, and initiatives that strengthen local economic opportunities.
Application deadline: 12 February 2026.
Please review the call for proposals for detailed information about the project and submit your application to participate.
