Microgrants of up to €3,000 for IDPs to Restore Businesses Affected by War

Entrepreneurs among internally displaced persons (IDPs), residents of war-affected communities, and veterans* can receive up to €3,000 to restore or develop their businesses. The grant funding can be used to purchase equipment and tools, with the expectation that income will be restored in the short term.

The humanitarian organization Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe has launched a microgrant competition to support small businesses affected by the war.

Funding of up to €3,000 (in UAH equivalent) is provided and can be used to purchase equipment, tools, inventory, and materials necessary to restore or stabilize business activities.

Who can apply

Applications are open to:

  • internally displaced persons (IDPs), veterans, and residents of communities affected by hostilities (located more than 20 km from the frontline);
  • entrepreneurs registered as sole proprietors (FOP) before January 1, 2026;
  • owners of microbusinesses (up to 10 employees) who independently manage their business;
  • individuals for whom the business is the main and sole source of income.

Eligibility criteria

The grant is available to entrepreneurs who:

  • have lost or significantly reduced their income due to the war (displacement, property damage, loss of equipment, market disruption, etc.);
  • have unstable income and are unable to cover basic needs;
  • lack the financial capacity to independently fund business recovery;
  • can restore or increase income through the purchased equipment (with expected results within three months);
  • have not received similar support for the same needs from other organizations.

Priority will be given to women who are IDPs or live in war-affected communities; families with children, elderly people, or persons with disabilities; single mothers and fathers; entrepreneurs whose businesses were damaged, destroyed, or relocated (with supporting documentation; details are available on the donor’s website).

This program provides an opportunity for IDPs and war-affected entrepreneurs to quickly restore their source of income without taking on debt.

For IDP Councils, it is also a practical tool to support local economic recovery: sharing information about the grant can help residents not only rebuild their businesses but also create jobs and ensure access to essential services within communities.

Application deadline: April 14, 2026, 17:00.
