The KUSANONE Programme provides financial support for projects aimed at improving living conditions in local communities.
Applications can be submitted by civil society and charitable organizations, municipal hospitals and rehabilitation centers, educational institutions, social service providers and cooperatives, as well as local self-government bodies.
The programme prioritizes projects in the fields of healthcare and rehabilitation, primary and basic secondary education, socio-economic support for vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), and agricultural development.
Funding is primarily allocated for the purchase of equipment and the improvement of infrastructure. This includes medical and rehabilitation equipment, shelters, renovation of educational facilities, machinery for the agricultural sector, and equipment for mental health centers.
IDP Councils may contribute to the development of project ideas under the programme by representing the needs of internally displaced people within their communities.
The average grant amount is up to 10 million Japanese yen (approximately USD 72,000). Funding is provided on a non-repayable basis.
