A Human Rights Protection Center has opened in Lviv. The institution will provide free legal and advisory assistance to internally displaced people, veterans*, and family members of military personnel.
To ensure the space is accessible to all groups of residents, the Lviv City Council equipped the Center with a barrier-free entrance and adapted its interior premises. In particular, the space is accessible for wheelchair users.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. The main categories of people who will receive assistance at the Human Rights Protection Center include:
- internally displaced people;
- family members of military personnel;
- veterans;
- residents who need protection of their constitutional rights and freedoms.
In addition to providing individual legal assistance, the Center will monitor systemic human rights violations and cooperate with local self-government bodies to respond to such cases.
