IDP Women in Ternopil Region Invited to Entrepreneurship Training

Women from among internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in the Ternopilska Oblast are invited to take part in a four-day intensive training on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Participants will gain practical knowledge to launch or grow their own businesses, as well as receive mentorship support and access to a safe space for recovery.

The SILab Ukraine team, with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, has announced the launch of the “Start Your Own Business” program for women residing in the Ternopilska Oblast.

The initiative aims to strengthen the economic capacity of women affected by the war, particularly IDPs. The program is expected to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to start their own businesses or to restore and scale existing ones.

Special attention is given to engaging IDP women who are seeking new sources of income, aiming to integrate into host communities and regain financial stability.

During the training, participants will learn about:

  • the lean approach to launching a business;
  • target audience research and market analysis;
  • developing a minimum viable product (MVP);
  • legal and tax aspects of entrepreneurship;
  • financial modelling;
  • business plan development;
  • partnership building and investment attraction.

In addition to the educational component, an evening program focused on psychological relief and reflection is предусмотрено, which is particularly important for women who have experienced forced displacement.

The program is open to IDP women living in the Ternopilska Oblast, local residents, wives of military personnel and veterans*, women from rural areas, and representatives of vulnerable groups.

The training team includes experts in business development, finance, marketing, and social impact, all with hands-on experience in supporting entrepreneurial initiatives.

The training will take place from April 23 to 26 in Ternopil. Participation is free of charge. Organizers will cover accommodation and meals for participants throughout the training. To apply, candidates must complete the registration form by April 10 (20:00).

The “Start Your Own Business” program is implemented by SILab Ukraine with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, in partnership with terre des hommes and ChildFund.
