IDP Council in Kalush Approves 2026 Work Plan

On Monday, February 9, a meeting of the Council on Internally Displaced Persons under the Kalush City Council took place (Ivano-Frankivska Oblast). Council members approved the annual work plan for 2026 and outlined key priorities for the year.

The Council’s meetings will be held quarterly, and more frequently if necessary. This format is expected to ensure a prompt response to the challenges and needs of internally displaced people in the hromada.

The main priorities for 2026 include:

  • receiving and processing appeals from IDPs;
  • monitoring the implementation of local programs aimed at protecting IDPs’ rights;
  • strengthening advocacy efforts and responding to key issues affecting displaced women and men;
  • expanding information on opportunities for education, professional development, participation in grant programs, and starting or developing a business.

The IDP Council under the Kalush City Council is also considering signing memorandums of cooperation with international organizations, charitable foundations, and civil society organizations to enhance the protection of IDPs’ rights and support their integration into the Kalush territorial hromada.
