Civil society organizations can receive up to UAH 2.5 million to implement projects aimed at supporting the recovery of communities affected by Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. The competition covers education, social services, healthcare, culture, security, and energy resilience. Organizations working with local residents, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), and contributing to community development are encouraged to apply.
The Norwegian-Swedish Askold and Dir Fund, administered by ISAR Ednannia, has announced the grant competition for civil society organizations “Towards Life: Communities in Action”.
The competition aims to support initiatives that help communities restore social connections, services, and development opportunities disrupted by the full-scale war. The focus is not only on rebuilding infrastructure but also on restoring social processes, strengthening cooperation between residents and local authorities, increasing community resilience, and fostering sustainable development.
The competition may be particularly relevant for organizations working with internally displaced persons. Funding is available for projects that improve IDPs’ access to education, social services, healthcare, cultural initiatives, security solutions, and other services necessary for successful integration and active participation in community life.
The competition provides funding for projects in the following areas:
- restoration of educational processes;
- development and recovery of social services;
- improved access to healthcare;
- cultural initiatives and work on memory and identity;
- strengthening community safety and security;
- development of community energy autonomy;
- cross-sectoral solutions for comprehensive community recovery.
Projects may last from 6 to 12 months.
Applications are accepted until 1 July 2026, 5:00 PM (Kyiv time).
